Crestline, California Oct 14, 2026 (Issuewire.com) Award-winning children’s author Laure Stack is back with her newest release, The Adventures of Cooper, Winnie, and Petey Panther (released July 31, 2026) a funny, heartwarming chapter book that follows three animals as they meet, become a family, interact with local wildlife, and tumble through silly, ridiculous adventures. Told with the human parents seen entirely from the animals’ point of view, the book turns everyday family life into a comedy of whiskers, paws, and wild encounters. The book is Stack’s most personal yet. Her animal-centered storytelling draws directly on her own pets and the wildlife around her Lake Arrowhead, California home her current author bio notes two cats and three dogs and her official biography highlights nature, skiing, swimming, and hiking among her interests. Where her earlier picture books transformed classroom observations into lessons about confidence and belonging, this newest title channels the joy, chaos, and curiosity of life shared with animals. “As a teacher and a parent, I need children to believe in themselves, be proud of themselves, and understand how to deal with fear and conflict in healthy ways,” Stack said. The release caps a landmark year for the former special education teacher. After more than two decades working with children from kindergarten through high school, Stack began writing in retirement and in 2026 she was named Best New Children’s Book Author in California, United States, by the Evergreen Awards.
Her growing library now carries young readers from self-belief (Once Upon a Boy) to individuality (Howie, The Unusual Bear) to courage through change (The Leaf That Went on an Unexpected Road Trip) and now to family, humor, and adventure with Cooper, Winnie, and Petey Panther. An animated version of The Adventures of Cooper, Winnie, and Petey Panther is also in production and will be out soon, and audio editions of all of Stack’s books are on the way.
